2007 King Family Reunion

The 2007 King family reunion was held July 21 in Perinton Park. We had a better attendance than I had expected, perhaps because the weather was perfect. The meal was cooked and served by family members as the original turn-out promised to be small. It was great to have more family members attend than expected as it's 'kings'that make it a reunion.

Family members lined up to eat the picnic food as well as the other goodies brought to be shared.

It was a perfect weather day enjoyed by all of us as well as the other patrons of the park.

The children attending this reunion were younger than other years and enjoyed the playground facilities in the park as well as checking the canal and feeding the ducks. All children went home with a 2007 King family reunion t-shirt to remember the day. A couple of "kings" wore their t-shirts from 1995 and several sported buttons from 2001. Many commented that they had saved memorabilia from past reunions.

We managed to get most of the 'Kings' attending together for a group picture.

We had a lot of Ezekial descendants as we usually do, and several Wesley, Alexander, Lewis, and Minnie King descendants.

We had several King's who we've lost since the last reunion that were conspicuously absent. I had intended to mention all of them, but somehow didn't. I would like to list them here so that their families know that they are missed. They are Ernest King, Myrtle King, Fred King, Olive Coons, George Rausler, and Benjamin Andrews.

I had brought a CD slideshow of old pictures and pictures from previous reunions as well as some old documents that I had scanned, that ran on my laptop during the reunion. My thanks to Bryan Hill, Dean King, Sally Gill, and Richard Coons who took digital pictures during the reunion and allowed me to add these to what I already had .
